Welcome Curtiss Aero to the BAC/DA Family!
Curtiss Aero Joins Forces with Business Aircraft Center/Danbury Municipal Airport.
In April, Curtiss Aero of Danbury, CT and Business Aircraft Center — both located at Danbury Municipal Airport (KDXR) — will join forces to better serve their clientele by expanding their services.
Curtiss Aero is a long-time Danbury Airport business, and has been located across from Business Aircraft Center and the Danbury airfield at 19 Miry Brook Road for the last 15 years. Beginning in April, Curtiss Aero will begin operations at Business Aircraft Center and Danbury Aviation on the north side of Danbury Municipal Airport.
Like Business Aircraft Center, Curtiss Aero was a full-service FBO. Curtiss Aero’s services include aircraft maintenance, tie-downs, self-serve fuel, flight services and instruction. Curtiss Aero is particularly known for specializing in aircraft maintenance and flight services for Technologically Advanced Aircraft (TAA). Curtiss Aero is also an authorized Cirrus Standardized Training Center and Limited Authorized Service Center, as well as the Certified Sales and Service Center for CubCrafters in the Northeastern U.S.
Reason for the Alliance
The strategic alliance will enable both Curtiss Aero and Business Aircraft Center to enhance and expand their existing FBO services and staff. According to Curtis Brunjes, co-owner of Curtiss Aero, "Talks of a partnership with BAC came about as a result of Curtiss Aero’s business growth, and the desire to be in the premier location at KDXR."
Santo Silvestro, co-owner of Business Aircraft Center, says "We are proud to welcome Curtiss Aero to the BAC family and are excited by what this means to both our fixed based operations, and how we’ll better serve the aviation needs of our now mutual clients." Brunjes agreed, "We share BAC’s enthusiasm for growing the business and creating excitement for our brand of general aviation."
Brunjes on Curtiss Aero
Curtis Brunjes further explained Curtiss Aero’s clients and services: "Our clients are discriminating owners, pilots and users of our services — people who enjoy and insist upon the latest in safety, technology and capability. We service a wide variety of aircraft in our maintenance facilities and train pilots in CarbonCubs, Cirrus SR-series aircraft and, for advanced client needs, we fly in our King Air B200 and various Citation Jets.
For those in need of executive transportation, our pilots are highly experienced, averaging over 5,000 hours of flight time. Most of our pilots are former military and airline pilots. Our mechanics are highly experienced and well regarded in the community, specializing in technologically advanced flying needs."
